We use a unique time series of electricity consumption by type of end-customer and the differences-in-differences (DID) methodology to evaluate the effect of daylight saving time (DST) on the consumption of electricity in the Mexican industrial sector. As expected, our results indicate that industrial customers do not modify their consumption of electricity significantly in response to DST.
